How do I know if my dog needs a Chiropractic Adjustment?

Dogs communicate their pain and discomfort in ways that are very similar to humans. Often, observation of changes in behavior, gait, appetite or energy level can signal that your dog might be in some level of discomfort and would benefit from Chiropractic care.

The following is a list of some of the most common symptoms that may indicate your dog could benefit from Animal Chiropractic. (Please note this list is not all inclusive/conclusive).

Symptoms Seen in Dogs

Does not like to be touched in certain areas

“Puppy-sitting” past two years of age

Walks with a limp / altered gait

Is slow or stiff upon rising

Hot spots or excessive licking / scratching on a particular area

Resents/reluctance jumping into or out of the car

Chronic ear infections

Head tilt

Decreased performance in competitions / shows

*Please note that this list is not all inclusive nor conclusive. Animal Chiropractic does not replace traditional veterinary medicine, but works very well in conjunction with it. Dr. Goodhart will work with your veterinarian as needed to ensure safe and therapeutic care of your animal to restore and maintain optimal function and health.

Chiropractic adjustments generally do not cause pain. Animals who present with moderate to severe pain may experience some discomfort initially because of the underlying injury or dysfunction, but your animal’s symptoms are taken into consideration while formulating a personalized treatment plan utilizing gentle, safe and effective treatment to allow your companion’s body to heal faster and achieve normal function and mobility.
